REGISTER ONLINE HERE FOR

Recreational soccer is open to all players from age 3 through age 18.  There are no tryouts associated with recreational soccer and the costs are lower due to the use of volunteer coaches and no travel at the younger age groups.  For the fall season (September through November), players between the ages of of  5 -18 are placed into a draft and assigned to teams based upon GSA's team formation policy.

All 3 year old players take part in fun-filled program designed to introduce them to the sport of soccer.  This program is led by a professional coach on the weekend and lasts for 7 weeks. It is an optional interactive program and parents are not required to be present.  4 year old players who are not ready for team competition soccer are given the option of participating in the program with the 3 year old players.

For the spring season, U6 - U19 players are automatically returned to the team they played on in the prior fall season as long as the team returns and the parents does not request a new team placement.

We encourage all players to register online.  The registration process is simple and allows us to easily place returning players on the correct teams.  As a convenience, you may pay by credit cared (Visa or MasterCard) or debit card online.

As part of registration, there is a required $25 fee for Capital Improvement.  This fee goes directly to the improvement of our facility, fields and complex at Cole Rd.  In addition there is an optional box listed for those families who wish to make a donation to GSA that benefit our recreation programs.  GSA is a volunteer organization.  GSA appreciates your consideration and support of its program and members.

If you have questions or would like to register onsite, the following walk-up registration dates are offered at GSA.  The GSA Clubhouse is located at 925 Cole Road, Lilburn, GA.

FAQs

Practice Days/Times
  • Practice days and times are determined by the head coach of your team but you can specify your preference during registration.  If you have conflicts with the day(s) selected by your team, please contact the Age Group Commissioner for your team (www.gsasoccer.com/officers)

Uniforms
  • GSA players in these age groups use a 2 jersey system and can play in the same uniform season after season. If you are new to GSA or you need a new uniform you will need to order a uniform directly from Krown Sports.  That link will be provided to you by early July.  Uniforms are shipped within a few days of their order and can also be picked up at the shop in Decatur near the Dekalb Farmers Market.   U4 players do NOT order uniforms.

Coaches/Team Parents/Other Volunteers
  • We are always in need to individuals to help with our programs.  If you are available to coach or assist in any way, please go online and register as a coach/assistant coach in a manner similar to the player registration.

Special Requests
  • Each season we receive special requests and we attempt to accommodate as many as possible. Especially at the younger age groups (U4-U8), we do everything possible to accommodate practice night preferences, car pool situations, etc.   Please note that although we cannot guarantee it, we encourage you to put your special requests in the section provided during online registration.

GSA is affiliated with Georgia Youth Soccer and US Youth Soccer. We have programs for both recreational and select players.   GSA has programs for players from age 3 through age 18.

Birth Certificates: When you register at GSA for the first time, you will need to provide a copy of the player's birth certificate.  You can bring the birth certificate to walk-up registration or fax it to GSA at 888-724-6516.

Uniform Package:
U5-U8 Recreational Players
For the U5 through U8 age groups, these age groups purchase a new uniform every fall season.  If you played in the fall season and are a returning player in the spring, you do not need to purchase a uniform for the spring season.  If you did not play in the fall, please make sure you specify that you need a uniform as part of your spring registration.  The uniform package that will consist of a jersey with the GSA logo, black shorts and black socks.  These uniform packages will be good for a calendar year that will run from the fall season through the end of the spring season.

U10-U19 Recreational Players
For the U10 and up age groups, we have implemented an upgraded uniform package.  The uniform package for these age groups will consist of 1 red jersey (home), 1 white jersey (away), a pair of black shorts and a pair of black socks.  These uniforms will be good for multiple years.  This will give our recreational teams that are inter-league schedules with other associations the ability to have a home and away uniform similar to the select teams.  It also eliminates the need to purchase a uniform every year if the uniform still fits the player.

Playing Up:  Players with an August birth date may play up one age group if requested on their registration form by their parent/guardian.  No additional approval is required.  If a player demonstrates exception skill in their own age group, they may apply to play up one age group.  A written request must be submitted by the parent/guardian along with the registration form.  Each request is subject to approval by the association.

Cancellation/Refund Policy:
Recreational Players: GSA encourages players to register early to guarantee them a spot on the upcoming season.  If a player requests to withdraw their registration anytime between registration and team assignment.  If you register late and are assessed a late charge, the late charge is only refundable in the event GSA cannot place the player on a team.  Once assigned, the late charge portion is non-refundable.  Any donations that are collected during registration are not refundable.

There will be no refunds after the start of the season (first Saturday in September for fall season, first Saturday in March for spring season) and all refunds require the approval of the GSA President.  Please note that all requests for refunds must be submitted to GSA in writing either by mailing GSA at P.O. Box 210, Lilburn, GA 30048 or emailing the GSA President.

Equipment: In addition to the uniform provided through GSA, each player should have the equipment that is listed below.

Schedule: Team formation will occur approximately 3 weeks before the start of the season.  Players who registered online will be notified via email as soon as their team assignment is complete.  If we do not have your email address on file, you will be notified by the coach or team manager of the team you are assigned to.  GSA offers 2 seasons per year, a Fall Season and a Spring Season.
