Games

All teams are guaranteed 3 games and no games will be played on Friday.  Please reserve Friday afternoon/evening for team check-in. 

 

Application

All applications are processed online.  You are not required to pay online but we request all teams register online and provide player information for our program.  You will receive an email confirmation when your application is submitted.  If you register with a credit card, your card will not be charged until your application is accepted.  When your application is accepted, you will receive another email and a notice that your charge has been processed.

If you choose to mail a check, your check must be received within 10 days of your application, otherwise your application will be withdrawn.

All teams need to register by April 28, 2008

Trophies
Individual trophies will be presented to champions and finalists. 

Eligibility
The Super Cup Tournament is open to boy's and girl's competitive club teams. This is a US Youth Soccer sanctioned tournament through the Georgia Youth Soccer Association. All teams must be in good standing with their state association.

 

Rules
All games are played in accordance with FIFA rules, except as specially modified by Tournament Rules. A full set of Tournament Rules can be found on this website.

 

Team Check-In
Check-in will be held at the Tournament Hotel during the following times.  All teams are required to check-in Friday.

Early Check-in:     11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Evening Check-in:   6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Laminated player passes with pictures, a copy of your state roster and signed medical release forms will be checked at that time.  In addition, any team traveling from outside of Region III will be required to have received a Permission to Travel form from their own state association.

 
General DescriptionMajor regional tournament for competitive club teams.  The Super Cup is intended to bring the very highest level of competition to Atlanta every Memorial Day.

DatesRegistration Friday May 23, 2008 from 11am-2pm and 6pm-9 pm. 
Round-Robin games will be played on Saturday & Sunday (May 24 & 25, 2008).
Finals will be played on Monday, May 26th, 2008.

Age GroupsU10 (6v6)
U11 (8v8)
U12 (8v8 & 11v11)
U13 - U19 (11v11)
Boys and Girls divisions at each age.

LocationThe tournament will use 10 fields at the GSA Complex and other sites near the GSA Complex.  Specific playing locations will be determined after the tournament application deadline.

OfficialsEach U10 game will have 1 certified official and all U11 and older games will have 3 certified officials.

Guest RefereesReferees from out of the area are welcome to apply.  Referees interested in working the tournament should contact the referee booker by email at kelly.bradley@gsasoccer.com.

AwardsIndividual awards will be presented to champions and finalists.   

Guest PlayersUp to 5 guest players are permitted

U10 teams may have no more than 12 on their roster, including guest players.

U11 - U16 teams may have no more than 18 on their roster, including guest players.

U17 - U19 teams may have no more than 22 on their roster, including guest players, and only 18 players may be listed on a game card and participate in a game.


Hotels

GSA does not make reservations but we have provided a list of hotels that are "soccer friendly".  We have met with these hotels and they understand the special needs of teams traveling.  Most of these hotels have extended a special discounted price to teams with the Super Cup.  Please make sure you specify you are with the Super Cup to get this discount.

Team PaperworkTeams are required to present the following items at Check-In.
  • A copy of your state issued team roster (tournament keeps a copy)
  • Laminated player pass for each player, including guest players
  • Signed medical release form for each player, including guest players
  • A state-approved permission to travel for each team outside of Region III.  Region III teams should check with their state to make sure they comply with their individual state's notification requirements.

To Obtain a Permission to Travel FormYou will need a copy of the GSA Super Cup's Permission to Host Form to obtain a state-approved Permission to Travel Form.

Head coaches with more than one teamPlease indicate on your application if you are the head coach of more than one team.  The tournament scheduler will make their best effort to not schedule conflicting games but cannot guarantee there will not be conflicts.   Please only ask for consideration if you are the head coach.
