GSA South 4U Soccer Sprouts

4U Soccer Sprouts is designed to provide a fun and activity based program for three-year-old children who are not yet ready for the competition based program in the older age groups. This is not a traditional league where players have practices and games.  The program is instructed by a professional coach and parental involvement is optional during the session each week.  Games and activities are utilized to provide an introduction to the basic skills (balance, running, dribbling, shooting).  Parents are encouraged to participate in many activities throughout the season.

Soccer Sprouts meets for six weeks, beginning the second week of September in the fall and the 2nd week of March in the spring. Each session lasts for 45-60 minutes.

COACHING
There are no set teams/coaches for the 4U Soccer Sprouts program.  GSA will provide 2-3 staff coaches each week to run sessions; sometimes parents may be asked to assist with activities.

PRACTICES
There is no weekday practice for Soccer Sprouts. Each player participates in a staff coach-led session once a week on Saturday at the time you select during registration.

BRING TO EACH SESSION
Every player should bring their GSA-provided ball or any other size 3 ball to practice.  Each play must wear shinguards at all times; these can be purchased at a local sporting goods store.  Cleats or turf shoes are not required; standard athletic shoes are fine for this age.   Bring a large bottle of water and consider bringing a small snack.
